Footshop – Retail Design and Experience
Wubuki was entrusted with the design & integration of Footshop’s ‘Limited edition sneaker store’ into the industrial landscape of ‘Vnitroblock’ – an urban cultural centre in Prague.
A key challenge was to simultaneously maintain brand identity and achieve harmony with the existing industrial architecture. Through the exploration and definition of a key material palette, combined with a considered use of negative space, we were able to successfully incorporate and integrate Footshop’s clean retail design language into the rough factory aesthetics of Vnitroblock.
We were also challenged to create a flexible, multi-functional space: one that is not only able to successfully perform as a retail space but also act as a space for events. To achieve this goal we developed a series of massive (3 x 5 metre), rotating, glass shelving-walls. When closed, the glass walls define a calm, encapsulated retail space, which still provides views into the store. When smoothly rotated open, the glass walls combine and link the retail space with Vnitroblock’s Bars, Cafes & Cultural stages – Transforming it into the ideal space for Brand & Artist events, Release parties and Sneaker launches.
Hats off, to the engineering and production teams at EYELEVEL for manufacturing and successfully realising our creative vision so accurately!
