Sky | Folding Screen
What were the skies like when you were young?
“They were beautiful with little white fluffy clouds, raining fractals across an endless blue sky.”
This folding screen is comprised of handmade paper screens and black-cherry wood frames. The frames are stained and given hue through application of tinted shellac’s.
The mix of paper screens and wooden lattices results in both diffusion and scattered patterns of light throughout a space.
The piece was designed to partially obscure vision, whilst allowing seductive glimpses into forbidden spaces.
