OPI – Retail Design and Brand Experience
Wubkui was challenged to develop a new retail and personal grooming experience for the world leader in the professional nail care industry, OPI.
From the concept and tagline, ‘Colour is the Answer’, the design team at Wubuki explored physical solutions to express and illustrate the plethora of colours in the OPI range through the interior architecture and fixtures. One solution resulted in a bespoke cladding system that when viewed from one angle seemed almost white, but when moving through the space revealed a rainbow of colours.
In addition to designing the flagship retail experience and consumer journey, we also developed a comprehensive toolbox of retail fixtures. With specific design studies and focus given to testing and consultation tools.
One of these testing tools was inspired by Le Corbusier’s ‘Colour Keyboard’ and encourages customers to discover and explore new exciting colour combinations, by simply sliding an analogue key across the colour keyboard’s surface.
